October 23, 2019 – Life is all about building relationships and our relationship with you is very important. Our ability to care for hospice patients who need us depends on people like you who partner with us to fulfill our mission of providing loving and compassionate care. Planned gifts such as bequests, trusts, and other options provide opportunities that can help you achieve your financial and family goals, as well as create a lasting legacy of care at Trillium House. Please consider becoming a member of the Trillium Society today. If you would like an informational brochure on such gifts or would like to discuss legacy opportunities, please email Pat Bray, Trillium House Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him directly at 906-273-1653.
October 20, 2019 – As one of Marquette County Quilters Association charities, Trillium House was asked to be one of the Dignitary Judges at their Autumn Comforts Quilt Show held last weekend at NMU. Connie Mazzuchi did a wonderful job carefully viewing 300 quilts in a variety of categories before chosing Ann Pillote‘s beautiful quilt, ‘Roses Are Red’ as the Trillium winner! Ann’s amazing quilt took her a year to make and includes exquisite hand applique` and paper pieced medallions and fabulous quilting by Chris Wiik. The quilt also won 1st place in the Applique` Quilt category, Exceptional Quilting and Viewer’s Choice. Thanks Connie for representing Trillium House at the show!
October 14, 2019 – Our Wish List has included a multi-function copier for a long time and thanks to our generous supporters and donors we will have a great copier delivered within days. We are once again overwhelmed with the generosity of our community. In less than 72 hours we reached our goal to purchase the much needed multi-function copy machine. A special thanks to Dan Cook for donating not just 1 painting but 3! Each lucky recipient that donated $300.00 had their choice of his fabulous paintings! Thank you to Dan and everyone that made this purchase happen. We are so blessed having a community of Trillium supporters that continues to step forward when we have a special need. Thank you!

September 26, 2019 – Care Aide Madi checks out this thoughtful gift from Andrea LaCombe Jensen, who has entertained many folks over the years throughout our community as “Keyboard Annie”. We have had many pianos and organs generously offered to us but the house just wasn’t designed for one. This keyboard is a wonderful way for us to encourage those that play the piano to share music with our Residents and their loved ones. Thank you Andrea for this generous gift and helping us spread music throughout the house.
August 23, 2019 – What an awesome community we live in! This wonderful group of close friends arrived at Trillium House last week to present Trillium House Board Chairman, Aaron Scholnik a check for $3000.00! Their annual rummage sale that is done to support different area charities raised a record amount for Trillium House. Thanks to everyone that stopped by their sale and we hope you found some great treasures to take home. So much work goes into a fundraiser like this and we’re honored that the Trillium mission was the beneficiary this year. Their donation goes directly to supporting the Trillium Care Fund which allows us to provide Trillium’s care at a discounted fee to hospice patients and their families who need us at the end of life. If you know any of these wonderful folks, please thank them for supporting Trillium and all the great organizations they’ve helped before. If you or your organization is planning an activity or event that includes Trillium House as a beneficiary, please let us know and we’ll help spread word. We are truly blessed by those that support Trillium House in so many different ways. Together we are a community and we thank you all.
August 18, 2019 – Trillium House is truly a home for our Residents and their families. We thank this beautiful family for sharing their experience at Trillium with us.
August 12, 2019 – The central U.P.’s only hospice home has broadened the scope of its respite program to help more families struggling to care for a loved one. “Hospice patients who need our care will always be Trillium House’s mission and focus. After a year of experience and much discussion, we concluded Trillium can also help more families who need care on a short-term basis,” explained Dr. Aaron Scholnik, Trillium’s board president.
The initiation of this additional service springs from families with a loved one who is not yet enrolled in a hospice program reaching out to Trillium House, said Executive Director Pat Bray. At those times, however, Trillium could only accept those formally enrolled in hospice care who needed a safe and comfortable home during their hospice journey. From these calls, Bray explained, it was clear these families were struggling with the same issues of worry, lack of sleep, and the heavy physical demands of caring for a sick person 24 hours a day that families of hospice patients experience. Trillium’s volunteer Board of Directors decided it could follow the lead of a sister home, Omega House in Houghton, by being available to non-hospice guests for short-term stays of three to seven days.
August 8, 2019 – What a wonderful night! Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community. We have so many people to thank for making our first Care Concert a huge success. Joshua Davis and May Erlewine entertained us with their heartfelt music and we were touched by their comments about their personal experiences with hospice and their support of Trillium House. Our many wonderful volunteers both in-front and behind the scenes including a great group from Kohl’s, the donors of fabulous raffle prizes and our sponsors, we couldn’t have done it without all of you!
We continue to be humbled by the amazing organizations and individuals who support the Trillium House mission. A huge THANK YOU to the amazing sponsors of our Care Concert:
