After years of planning and hard work, ground was broken for Trillium House in late June 2017. It was a dream come true for many people who had spent over five years planning and working towards that special day.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Trillium’s then President Dan Mazzuchi said: “When a terrific group of about 20 people came together almost five years ago to try and make this happen, we all dreamed of its success. Now close to 1,000 people, foundations, groups, and businesses have joined in to make it real. It’s truly a great day for all of us.”
Our extended community truly embraced the vision of a hospice home within the central Upper Peninsula. The building fund drive raised more than $2.2 million in gifts and pledges. The success in meeting our goal means Trillium House truly is owned by our community.
An open house was held in late June 2018 and Trillium House welcomed our first Resident on July 13, 2018.
