Our thanks to the West End Health Foundation for its recent grant to purchase another refurbished new model hospital bed. These beds are a great for Residents and a huge help to our care staff compared to the older metal frame hospital beds. They provide enhanced comfort to Residents and make caring for Resident far safer for our staff. UP Health System Marquette donated two of these beds and the Superior Health Foundation has provided a grant for the purchase of two more. With this latest grant, we’re confident of having these wonderful additions in all Resident rooms by the end of the year!
November 4, 2019 – Exciting news as we learned this morning that Embers Credit Union selected Trillium House as part of their participation in the Lake Superior Community Partnership annual fundraising event “Family Feud-Partnership Edition” this Thursday, November 7th.
For those of us who can’t attend, here’s a way to be involved and raise funds for Trillium House. Go to the link below and vote for your Feud Favorite. It’s simple, quick and just $10 per vote. Trillium House will receive 50% of all of the funds Embers gets through these votes. Embers is not only a major donor to the Capital Drive that built Trillium, but also provided us with a great construction loan that we’ll pay off through pledges in about a year. They’re easy to work with and we’re fortunate to have their President & CEO Tom Blake on our board.
We hope you can attend this fun event. Be sure to vote for Embers as your Feud Favorite. More information regarding tickets and Feud voting, please go to LSCP website. See you there.
October 14, 2019 – Our Wish List has included a multi-function copier for a long time and thanks to our generous supporters and donors we will have a great copier delivered within days. We are once again overwhelmed with the generosity of our community. In less than 72 hours we reached our goal to purchase the much needed multi-function copy machine. A special thanks to Dan Cook for donating not just 1 painting but 3! Each lucky recipient that donated $300.00 had their choice of his fabulous paintings! Thank you to Dan and everyone that made this purchase happen. We are so blessed having a community of Trillium supporters that continues to step forward when we have a special need. Thank you!
September 26, 2019 – Care Aide Madi checks out this thoughtful gift from Andrea LaCombe Jensen, who has entertained many folks over the years throughout our community as “Keyboard Annie”. We have had many pianos and organs generously offered to us but the house just wasn’t designed for one. This keyboard is a wonderful way for us to encourage those that play the piano to share music with our Residents and their loved ones. Thank you Andrea for this generous gift and helping us spread music throughout the house.
August 23, 2019 – What an awesome community we live in! This wonderful group of close friends arrived at Trillium House last week to present Trillium House Board Chairman, Aaron Scholnik a check for $3000.00! Their annual rummage sale that is done to support different area charities raised a record amount for Trillium House. Thanks to everyone that stopped by their sale and we hope you found some great treasures to take home. So much work goes into a fundraiser like this and we’re honored that the Trillium mission was the beneficiary this year. Their donation goes directly to supporting the Trillium Care Fund which allows us to provide Trillium’s care at a discounted fee to hospice patients and their families who need us at the end of life. If you know any of these wonderful folks, please thank them for supporting Trillium and all the great organizations they’ve helped before. If you or your organization is planning an activity or event that includes Trillium House as a beneficiary, please let us know and we’ll help spread word. We are truly blessed by those that support Trillium House in so many different ways. Together we are a community and we thank you all.
July 31, 2019 – Patti Nicholson and Gloria Tibbets, the wife and sister of Resident Ross Nicholson recently donated a framed painting done by Ross nearly 20 years ago. The colorful sunset will find a place of honor at Trillium House. We thank his family for giving us this memory of Ross. He was a very special man.
