June 21, 2019 – We are so happy the Chocolay Township Senior Center included Trillium House on a recent outing. More than 20 members visited the House to learn more about it and some shared their experience with a loved one living at Trillium House. It is so good to see folks coming to Trillium to get a better understanding of what we do for hospice patients and their families. It’s especially meaningful to us when you see visitors grasp we really are a home and not a facility or institution. This usually happens when we share stories about wheelchair races and Lion-Packer parties. If you’re part of a group that visits places in our community, please include Trillium in your plans. It’s a good place to get to know.
June 12, 2019 – Bike Night at The Up North Lodge was a huge success! Thanks to Jessie, Sally and the wonderful staff for taking such good care of us. As always the ribs were delicious and the drinks cold and plentiful. It was standing room only and the amazing crowd donated a total of $1900.00 to Trillium House by purchasing 50/50 and raffle tickets and winning some awesome prizes. Thanks to everyone including Nancy Henderson and Chris Wiik who donated a beautiful patriotic motorcycle quilt. We truly appreciate your dedication to our mission at Trillium House. Once again our sponsors for Bike Night went above and beyond. Thanks to Jackie and David Martin The Window Store Home Improvement Center.
May 23, 2019 – Our thanks to the good folks and new Trillium House Community member Main Street Pizza! Main Street Pizza has joined Outlanders, Iron Bay Restaurant & Drinkery, and Jean Kay’s Pasty & Subs in sharing a dinner with our Residents and their loved ones. The community’s embracing of our Residents and families is so heartwarming. Thanks to Main Street Pizza and all the wonderful owners and employees who generously give their time to help Trillium House. If you know of a restaurant that would like to join our Trillium family, please have them contact us.
May 1, 2019 – A fabulous crew from VAST braved a chilly day last week to get our grounds looking good after the long winter. Some of the VAST volunteers – assisted by Board member Sam Elder and Volunteer Rick Holmes – raked around the building and our sign, cleaned up all the various winter debris and prepped the gardens. We are so looking forward to using our new gazebo this summer. Another group of VAST volunteers taped and painted one of the Resident rooms. What a great group of people. Thanks so much from all of us at Trillium House.
April 22, 2019 – Our thanks to the good members of the Exchange Club of Marquette for their continuing support of our caring for hospice patients who need a safe and comfortable home at the end of life! All of us at Trillium House extend our deepest thanks to all of the wonderful organizations and people who continue to support our mission. March 30, 2019 – The dream and idea of Trillium House began over 5 years ago by many like-minded individuals who saw a need for a hospice home in our community. Last week, the awesome crew from the Window Store installed this etched glass thank you to those whose gifts brought Trillium out of the ground. Our community took ownership in the belief that we can offer the dying a choice that embraces their wish to pass in comfort surrounded by love. Your continuing support means Trillium House will do everything we can for all those who live with us. Please stop by when you have the opportunity to see this wonderful addition to our home. We can’t thank the Window Store enough for their help. They volunteered their expert craftsman to design, build, and install this beautiful tribute display. Their work was all we could hope for, right down to taking extra steps to exactly match Trillium’s existing woodwork and to polish the glass to a sparkling clarity. Thank you to everyone at the Window Store!
